That's not the case with the TI,

But that's exactly my experience with the TI. Sure there is the occasional glitch, but right now I am successfully running it in SX3 (I'm reluctantly beginning to work less with Logic, as the multi-channel Vsti implementation sucks, but it still works) with barely a hitch. Automation works, playback is tight as a gnat's chuff.

Changing patches via the browser during playback does cause hiccups, but at least program changes are working with the Virus Control now, and they seem to work very smoothly.

I know there are still issues that Access need to sort out, but I think it's fair to say that many of the problems people are experiencing are down to their hardware configurations. As the knowledge base expands, these problems will become known and readily resolved - and in the meantime, bugs will become fewer.

I guess this is the worst problem because everybody use different configurations, motherboards, soundcards, midi-interfaces, sample-rates, asio buffers, host sequencers etc...

Like we have seen, even universal audio and tc electronic cannot get their dsp cards to work with every system. And because TI uses usb and integrates to the existing system, it has the same compatibility problems as any dsp card has. Also the usb-chip and mobo affect directly to how the TI works. It's just impossible that it would be compatible with every system. If we take a look at the uad1 and powercore again, many people get clicks and pops, high cpu usage if the motherboard or the rest of the system isn't compatible. The same with Virus TI.

Users have already been listing the working uad1- and powercore setups at uad1- and powercore-forums and maybe we'll have to do the same in here with virus ti.

its true so many systems to make it compatible with..
and you change somethin for one system and it effects the others.
its a balancing act.

man at this point access must be kicking themself
they didnt just add a few more features and drop
the whole "TI" thing, and just make it the virus d.
more trouble then its worth for them.

If I had a week left to take it back, I would take it back now too.

You can always hold on to the cash and if the TI does get better (which I think it will eventually), then you can outlay the money again. Nothing lost in that case.

Good luck with the choice.

I use it in Multi mode with SX3 and have no real problems with it at all.
Thankfully.

Can you stress your systems with the TI to the maximum as before or do the clicks and pops appear at some point?

Royalston 30.10.2005 01:29 AM

I fucking hate my Ti now. Its buggy as hell - an unfinished product. Im so annoyed I cant describe it. I cant believe I waited a year for it!
If I could return it I would. Good sound when it works - shame i can rarely get it to make a noise. I wouldn't recommend this thing to anyone. grrr :(

I'm with you on this one guys.
Since the latest update, this thing ROCKS!
So inspiring and convenient. It's not perfect yet but it's REALLY usable :)

This really amazes me. You people bitch when Access wont release the TI and even go to lengths by saying "I dont care if it is buggy, just release it and let them fix it along the way."
Access does just that and you are still not satisfied. For the love of pete, sell the thing on ebay, i just might buy it (at a discount of course).
