...the ringing in my ears.

just got back tonight from earthcore festival (3 day electronic/arts festival about 2 hours drive north of melbourne)

just a couple of highlights:

son kite: i know you guys dont like trance - this isnt trance. his 90 minute 'live' set blew me away... progressive with amazing rhythm. he had about 800-900 people going for it while he was up on stage with his midi violin and assortments of synths and samplers... over about 70,000W

simon ponsford: 8O if you havent heard anything released by SHPONGLE before then please check it out. ponsford and raja ram (who is nearing 70????) produce what i regard as the most amazing electronic music on the planet... he only played a dj set, but it was the final act of the festival at around midday today (sun) - all other stages were closed at this point so the whole festival moved to the main stage for posfords set - and he played a lot of new tracks from the upcoming shpongle release 8O
you cannot categorise their music in any way other than to put in the 'brilliant' genre

Son kite is quite nice - a friend of mine invited me to meet them, but since i got agoraphobia, i have no chance of getting to malm? (where their studio is located).

I can't wait until January when i'll get to meet Rinkadink and Dark Soho because a mate of mine has a party coming up in then and they are going to play and i'll be backstage harrasing everybody.. hehe

Sometimes i just feel for those monotone, space-fx-types of songs. I got used to listen to that when all of my friends did listen to those types of music.

NP: Kansas - Dust in the wind.. I shouldnt be playing these kinds of songs right now..

NP: The Inkspots - Maybe.

Ah, there is nothing better than listening to 'apocalypse'-music when you are in a shitty mood.

The apocalypse-part in this tune is because it's one of the opening tunes to the game "Fallout".

It doesn't get any better than Identified Flying Object. Nothing has come close in all the years since it was originally released.
